The 2021-22 NBA regular season comes to a close on Sunday and so does the NFBKC's regular season. Prizes will go out a few days later as we crown league and overall champions after Sunday's games. Thanks for such a great season everyone and good luck during this final week of action.
But the NFBKC season doesn't end with the end of the NBA regular season., Oh, no, we've got a Post-Season Contest just waiting for you and we're going to award the $10,000 grand prize to someone at the end of the NBA playoffs.
The 2021-22 NFBKC Post-Season Contest returns with a guaranteed $10,000 grand prize and over $30,000 in prize money. We'll pay the Top 15 finishers with a goal of getting 250 teams in this contest.
We sold this Post-Season Contest out last year and we think it will be popular again because this NBA playoff race is WIDE OPEN. Any team can win the title this year. Let's sell this one out again.
The NBA is again going with play-in games to start the playoffs, but we will not count those games in our NFBKC Post-Season Contest. Twenty teams will make the playoffs and there will be two series of play-in games between the 7, 8, 9 and 10 seeds in each conference starting on Tuesday, April 12th. Once the play-in games are finished, we'll be left with 16 playoff teams and the NFBKC Post-Season Contest will begin. The first playoff games that count for this post-season contest will begin on Saturday, April 16th.
This is a points-based scoring system that gives points based on seven scoring categories. They include:
2-Point Field Goals Made = 2 points
3-Point Field Goals Made = 3 points
Free Throws Made = 1 point
Assists = 1.5 points
Steals = 2 points
Blocked Shots = 3 points
Total Rebounds = 1.5 points
Now comes the fun part:
Once the post-season is whittled down to 16 teams, NFBKC owners have to compile a 16-man roster for Round 1 consisting of ONLY 1 PLAYER from each NBA team. You can pick any player you want from any team, but you just get one player. And every point that all 16 players accumulate from all of the Round 1 games are added to your team total. Easy enough, right? There is no draft, you just pick one player from each NBA team.
After Round 1, every NFBKC team will have lost 8 players, with 8 players advancing to the next round. In Round 2, NFBKC owners replace players they've lost with new players, but you can only have 2 players from each of the 8 remaining NBA teams for a roster of 16 players. Every player you kept from Round 1 into Round 2 will earn 2 times their points in this round. So if you had LeBron James on your roster in Round 1 and the Lakers won in Round 1, you'll earn 2x for every point he earns in Round 2. The 8 other players you just added for Round 2 earns 1x their points.
This is a multiplying hold 'em contest, so the longer they are on your roster the more points they earn. Get it?
In Round 3, rosters are reduced to 12 players per NFBKC team as we're now down to 4 NBA teams. You can have a max of 3 players per NBA team to fill out your NFBKC roster and any player you had on your roster since Round 1 will earn 3x in Round 3, while players that you've had on your roster since Round 2 will earn 2x. New players added in this round will earn 1x their points.
And in Round 4, NFBKC rosters will be reduced to 8 players as there are only 2 NBA teams left. NFBKC rosters will be limited to 4 players per NBA team and those players will earn 4x their points if they've been on a roster since Round 1, 3x if on a roster since Round 2 and 2x if on a roster since Round 3. Players added for the first time in Round 4 will earn 1x in this round.
The NFBKC team with the most points will win the $10,000 grand prize and we'll pay down 15 spots. All of the Rules and Prizes can be found here:

Prizes are based on only 250 teams. Cost of entry is $150 per team and rosters will be finalized once the NBA finishes the play-in portion of the tournament to get down to 16 teams. As teams are eliminated from the 20-team field, those players will be taken out of the player pool. Rosters will be finalized just before the first tipoff of the Round 1 NBA games for the field of 16 teams.
