The 2013-14 NFBKC Season Is Now LIVE

Post by Tom Kessenich » Thu Aug 01, 2013 2:42 pm

We're happy to unveil our new site and Registration for the 2013-14 NFBKC season. You can sign up for leagues now and get your spots reserved. Be sure to check out our NEW $150 Draft Champions leagues, which are draft-and-hold style leagues with 25 rounds and eight hours per pick. Those leagues are ready to start NOW and have been huge hits in our Baseball and Football contests. They are a great way to get a handle on how the player pool will shape up for the coming season.

To find out more about this game click here. http://nfbkc.stats.com/basketball/leagu ... _champ.asp

The Main Event will feature a $15,000 grand prize this year while the RotoWire Online Championship will carry a $10,000 grand prize. In addition to those two great national contests, we again will offer a $2,500 Super league, Satellite leagues and even a $5,000 Ultimate contest.

What more could you want in a fantasy basketball event. Check out the site and sign up today and let's start getting ready for another great NBA and NFBKC season. :)

I'd also like to welcome everyone to the NFBKC site for 2013-14. Take a look at the Contests link above and check out all of our various offerings and let us know what you think. This is easily the most aggressive prize structure we've ever offered in the National Fantasy Basketball Championship. We are going to push hard to fill up all of our contests this year with record numbers. We did raise the entry fee in the NFBKC Main Event this year because we felt that if you die-hards are going to work this hard for a top prize you need a WORTHY grand prize and even better league prizes. So we pushed the envelope this year in the NFBKC Main Event and now have a $15,000 grand prize and a $6,000 league prize.

And we are proud to introduce our first-ever NFBKC Draft Champions League. These "slow drafts" are EXTREMELY popular in baseball and football with more than 1,000 teams competing in both sports. We won't hit that level in basketball, but we definitely could see this contest producing dozens of leagues soon. The format is perfect for folks who like to draft, like to run a team, but who don't have the time for weekly in-season pickups. This league has one draft, no in-season pickups and just weekly starting lineup changes. And now we have a $2,500 grand prize and an $800 league prize. We'll do this in a "slow draft" format and we'll even offer some Friday night Express Leagues where we can whip through the whole draft in one night at one minute per pick starting in September and October. Look for those soon.

And let's think big-time here. We already offer the NFBKC Super League, but if you're going to do all the work for basketball season then why not PLAY BIG. We'll also offer our first-ever NFBKC Ultimate League and we'll even host this one in Las Vegas with online participants wired into us there. Let us know if you think there's any interest in a live draft this year or down the road as that would allow us to even look into NFBKC Auction Leagues at some point. How cool would that be?

Yes, it's time for the NFBKC to take a big step forward and we think we're doing that here in 2013-14. We have:

** The Biggest grand prize in our Main Event history
** The introduction of Draft Champions Leagues
** The introduction of an NFBKC Ultimate League
** The partnership with Rotowire.com for the Online Championship and the biggest grand prize ever there ($10,000)
** We also have our STATS Fantasy Advantage show on SiriusXM and all of our NFBKC Average Draft Positions will be used by us and other hosts there. Heck, even regular news broadcasts of players on that channel will use our ADPs when describing NBA players in September and October. Our ADPs will also be available to all NFBKC members who have 2013-14 teams once leagues begin generating those results.

So there's a lot happening here and we're happy to have the web site live and Registration live earlier than ever before. We are strongly committed to basketball and we believe this will be another record year for the NFBKC. Let's get it started with August Draft Champions Leagues. Who's ready to jump in?

Thanks all and good luck during this upcoming hoops season.
